Giselle (Helen Brixton & Graham Jones), la Nymphe and Skipper at Cheddar

Friday
Met Graham & Margaret Pitcher with their black lhd small boot Normale at M4/A34 services, then drove gently to Lacock for lunch at The Sign of the Angel. Bernie & Pearl Shaw with their black lhd small boot Légère were trying to join us, but had a rear puncture, and our mobile was switched off. They got to Lacock, but went to the wrong pub. At the rally they were able to have 2 new tyres fitted. The evening there was a BBQ at the campsite, and only a couple of light showers. About half were camping, other in B&Bs or hotels. Our hotel right next to Cathedral.

Saturday
Met in Cheddar. Speech by Mayor, and presents of strawberries and cream etc. Press took lots of photos, and wanted to know Skipper's name. About 40+ cars set off in 3 groups, each following a lead car, and all escorted by motorcycles to round up stragglers. Lovely leisurely drive through narrow lanes, with a fair few heavy rain storms. Most had picnics in recreation park in Wells, or found pub. Afternoon free, but some went pot-holing, horse riding or round cathedral etc. I snoozed, Sue shopped. Supper in nearby village hall followed by barn dance.

Sunday
Driving tests in huge empty car park nearby. In & out of cones, sometimes blindfolded with passenger navigating. Great fun, and quite safe. Then all assemble on Cathedral Green. Total of 57 cars by then. Weather now very good. Most had picnic lunches, some ate nearby as most pubs and eateries open. You could buy T-shirts, memorabilia, models, and spare parts. Cars judged and prizes awarded at 3pm. We were home by 6pm.
