Darling Buds Classic Car Show, Buss Farm, Bethersden, Kent

The Darling Buds Classic Car Show is presented by the Rover P5 Alive Club and will be held on Sunday 12th July, 2009 from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm at Buss Farm, which can be found just off the Pluckley Road in Bethersden, near Ashford in the heart of Kent.
All pre-1980 makes and models of classic cars, their owners, enthusiasts and members of the public are cordially invited to a "perfick" family day out with a warm, friendly atmosphere.
The venue has ample public car parking and gates open at 9.00 am.
An estimated 900+ classic vehicles are expected at this year`s show, making it one of Kent's most popular annual events.
This exclusive location was used in the making of Yorkshire Televisions well-known series  "The Darling Buds of May" and (please note) is the only time that the farm is open to the public.
This year's show will include Pop Larkins yellow Rolls Royce and blue Chevrolet truck, birds of prey flying display, traditional children's` rides, live music, auto-jumble and craft stalls, food for all tastes, a visit by the Kent Air Ambulance helicopter (operational circumstances permitting), plus a licensed bar.
Throughout the day there will be arena displays of exhibitors` vehicles, with a live commentary.
A special nostalgic exhibit is a 40 year old restored classic - not a car, but a "little" treat for historic computer buffs - a massive working ICT 1301 main-frame computer from the 1960`s, which occupies a whole barn, answers to the name of Flossie and is believed to be the only functional machine of its type in the world.
Exhibitors` entry fee is just £2.00 for pre-booked classic cars or £5.00 on the day. More information, location map and an entry form is available on the website: http://www.darlingbudsclassiccarshow.co.uk/
Public admission is £10.00 per. car. This includes show entry for all occupants and parking.

Thornfalcon Annual Classic Car Meet

Thornfalcon Classics' annual lunch time meeting is, the organisers believe, unique. Held in the nearby village of Hatch Beauchamp no booking is necessary and it is free of charge! The meeting begins at 11.00am and finishes 2.30pm but many people arrive earlier, some leave later. Visitors arrive from all over the south of England - a few even further. The average number of exhibits sometimes reaches the one thousand mark! It is a meeting, not a show, so your vehicle does not necessarily have to be in pristine condition. Most makes are represented, from the mainstream to the obscure including commercial vehicles and motor bikes as well as cars. Food and drink are available on-site from the village hall, also from Farthings Country Hotel and nearby Hatch Inn - or bring your own picnic. Even if it is poor weather the meeting will always go ahead, as was the case in 2008. The weather leading up to the event was appalling, even so it was not enough to deter the drivers of well over 600 vehicles - Thanks to Den Hewitt for the recommendation!

Technoclassica 2010

Billed as "The Worlds leading vintage car trade fair", the “Technoclassica” in Essen, has been in 2009 a great place to show off activities of German Citroen car clubs to the almost 170.000 visitors. The “Citroen-Strasse”, the 20-year-old association of all clubs, presented the two big anniversaries this year on 400 sqm: 75 years of Traction were celebrated with a TA Gauloises cabriolet, a Faux Cabriolet, Commerciale, Normale and Legere. On the other half, the 90 years of Automobiles Citroen retrospective started with a chassis #189 Type A 1919, Panhard DB Le Mans cabriolet, DS19, CX Prestige, SM, and not to forget the 2CV Charleston.

Why not already plan for your next trip to Germany in spring 2010, and have a look?

Invasion of Malaysia & Thailand

NEW

Next year, in July 2010, a Pacific/European group of 20 Citroën Traction Avant from France, Switzerland and Belgium will invade Malaysia and Thailand for a wonderful rally of 4 weeks.
Organized by Tractions Sans Frontieres, a totally benevolent french association, this rally will let the teams discover the natural treasures of Malaysia’s and Thailand’s cultures.
My wife and I will be in Kuala Lumpur at the end of September to prepare the rally.
We would be honoured to meet you and see with you if some meeting can be imagined together at our arrival in KL.
We have read a nice article upon Malaysia Citroën Network in a French specialized review (CITROPOLIS) and would be happy to meet Citroen Lovers of your country.
Tractions Sans Frontières has already organized many international rallies : in Africa ( Morocco in 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008), in Europe ( France & Belgium 2009), in Slovenia/Croatia/Bosnia ( 2008 ), in Canada ( Quebec 2008).
